David graduated from L’École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) de Montréal with a B.A. and an M.Sc. and is a CFA Charter holder. David has lived and worked in Canada, UK, Russia and in the UAE. David fluently writes and speaks English, French, Russian and Armenian.
James has over 10 years experience in the financial industry working in institutions such as UBS, Commerzbank and Merrill Lynch. He is a Structured Cross Asset Solution specialist covering Institutional accounts in Europe, USA and Latin America. James holds Bachelors in International Business Administration from Northeastern University Boston and ICADE Madrid. He has worked and lived in New York, London and Madrid.

Jean Roy holds a Ph.D in finance from the Wharton School. He is professor of finance at HEC-Montreal since 1990, where he teaches bank management. His research interests are financial risk management and financial regulation. He is actively involved in consulting with financial institutions. Over the years, he has worked with the Department of finance of Canada, the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Department of finance of Quebec, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Quebec, the Caisse de Dépôts and Placements du Quebec and the Desjardins Financial Cooperative. He is a member of the Advisory Panel of the International Association of Deposit Insurers.
Brian Romanchuk founded BondEconomics.com in 2013. It is a web site dedicated to providing analytical tools for the understanding of the bond markets and monetary economics.
He previously was a senior fixed income analyst at la Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He held a few positions, including being the head of quantitative analysis for fixed income. He worked there from 2006-2013. Previously, he worked as a quantitative analyst at BCA Research, a Montréal-based economic-financial research consultancy, from 1998-2005. During that period, he developed a number of proprietary models for fixed income analysis, as well as covering the economies of a few developed countries.
Brian received a Ph.D. in Control Systems Engineering from the University of Cambridge, and held post-doctoral positions there and at McGill University. His undergraduate degree was in electrical engineering, from McGill. He is a CFA charter holder.
Brian currently lives in the greater Montréal area.
Rod is a specialist in mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and risk arbitrage with over 15 yearsí experience in financial services in Europe, the United States and Asia. Prior to founding Manalo LLP, Rod was a Managing Director and led the European and Asian Event Driven Strategy effort at Jefferies International Limited. He previously worked as a senior merger arbitrage and special situations strategist at Deutsche Bank AG in London.
Before moving to London, Rod was a desk analyst on Citigroup Global Marketsí US Risk Arbitrage team and also worked in Equity Capital Markets at Citigroup in New York. He began his career in corporate finance and M&A investment banking at Bank of America in Chicago.
Through covering hundreds of M&A transactions and special situations globally, Rod has particular expertise in cross-border and hostile M&A, takeover codes by region, financial valuation analysis, antitrust laws and identifying where and why negotiations or definitive deals can fail. He employs a grounded and rigorous analytical approach to every deal under coverage.
Rod was born and raised in Toronto and holds a B.A. (Honours) in Applied Economics from Queenís University in Kingston, Canada.
Mahmoud is the lead trader for the Aegis Rock Ltd. fund. He brings a wealth of diverse experience. More recently he has been heading inflation trading operations Danske Bank, Nordea and Commerzbank where he actively traded inflation linked, interest rate and oil products. In previous roles in both structuring and trading complex risk interest rate products he has structured interest rate trades and traded a variety of sophisticated structured products.
Mahmoud has a bachelor and master in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, New York. He also has a Master of Finance from Imperial College London followed by some PhD level work at the same college. He also is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He is currently Senior Executive Officer of Aegis Rock Limited in the Dubai International Financial Centre which is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority and authorized for asset management.
